About Me
My name is Daniela Mae Cañete, I was born in Albuera, Leyte, Philippines in[removed]I believe I became an artist from the moment I learned how to use crayons at the early age of 3. I started my formal art experience when I entered an art competition in high school. Since I placed second on that contest, I believed that I have to improve my skills by constant practice. It was here that I realized that I wanted to pursue my career in this field. I think that being an artist is something that one is born to do. I went on to study through my practical experience, learning through trial and error and self studying the works of the masters and other influential artists in our locality. I then further expanded my knowledge in oil painting, gouaché painting, and watercolor painting, where I was now a member of a local art group called GAMAA. I currently work as a private school teacher. I balance my life as an artist and a teacher at the same time.
