Matheus Tomaz

I am Matheus Tomaz, a Photographer and Videomaker, passionate about audiovisual arts and cinema.

I am also the father of Théo, an amazing 9 year old boy who was born when I was just 21. He has helped me grow, both personally and professionally, by making me reflect on my life and choices during that time.

I was born in Porto Alegre but grew up in Canoas, where I currently live. Here, I gained nearly 8 years of experience in the political field. I won two municipal elections for mayor with different and opposing candidates, as well as a campaign for the current state governor. During that time, I worked in the audiovisual field, directing, filming, and editing videos for the candidates and, later, for the municipal communications office.

After that period, I discovered the tech sector and some startups. I had the opportunity to collaborate on creating institutional and digital marketing videos, specifically for sales purposes.
