About Me
ROLAND ALEXANDER FOULKES, an eighth generation Floridian, is a native of Fort Lauderdale and a graduate of the Pine Crest Preparatory School, Cornell University member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Cornell University Corporation's Board of Trustees, and the University of California at Berkeley (Fulbright Fellow and National Science Foundation Scholar, Founder of the National Association of Student Anthropologists/NASA, and first Black Student member of the American Anthropological Association's/AAA Board of Directors.)
As a Medical Anthropologist, he has lived, worked, researched, taught, and published in over 85 nations on 5 continents through such organizations as the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the United States Peace Corps, and the United Nations' World Health Organization.
He is the author of over 80 articles in academic journals around the world. His awards include the "John F. Kennedy Memorial Prize for Public Service" (Cornell & Peace Corps)
