Seran Demiral

Seran Demiral is an author of children’s literature and sci fi writer, as well as a philosophy for children/communities trainer from Istanbul, Turkey. She started to write and publish novels when she was a teenager. After graduating from architecture, she studied sociology and tried to adapt social issues to her fiction writing. Vice versa, she carried her experience with children to her academic works through her interests in arts based activities and forum theatre, especially while researching with young people. Recently, as an associate professor of Sociology, whose studies focus on the subjectivities of children and young people and their collective cultures, particularly in digital environments, she teaches childrens literature and methods in education at Boğaziçi University, Primary Education as well as for the Children’s Rights and Childhood Studies Master Program at the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw. Besides, she is continuing with her literary work.
