The Writer Who Creates Worlds

At an old wooden table, lit only by a lamp with warm light, sat she the writer. Her fingers ran over the keys, leaving lines on the screen that became a new world. Plots raged in her head: heroes fell in love, fought, betrayed and returned victorious.

She wrote fiction not because she could, but because she could not imagine her life without it. In her novels, cities that did not exist came to life, and people became more familiar than real ones. Sometimes it seemed to her that she was the conductor between two realities the one that was here and the one she was creating.

One day, at midnight, when her story was reaching its climax, something unusual happened. The screen of her laptop trembled, the letters whirled in a whirlwind, and then silence. She blinked. Before her stood a character created by her own imagination.

“Thank you for giving me life,” he said, bowing his head.
